Report: Drake Set For Las Vegas Residency

Published: Monday 14th Jan 2019 by TGJ Staff

While recent years have seen Pop divas dominate the Las Vegas strip, new reports suggest they’ll soon be making room for Hip-Hop hitmaker Drake.

Details below…

The rapper performed at XS Night Club recently and seemed to confirm the speculation that he’d be returning in a robust capacity by telling the audience:

“When I came back, I thought it’d be back at T-Mobile Arena or some (stuff),” but I’ll be back here at XS all year. You’ll have a lot of chances to see me.”

Per sources close the situation, Drizzy is said to have signed up for a residency with XS.

The self-ordained Champagne Papi is believed to have agreed to play a minimum of 12 shows at the venue over the next two years. [Source]

Year on year the demand for Aubrey seems to intensify, so it’s super savvy (and lucrative) to capitalise on it. Get it while it’s hot!

Gaga??? Britney started this trend hun

      • JanStan January 14, 2019

There were tons of residency’s dating back decades so no one ‘started it’. But Britney has been there for years and didn’t really start a NEW trend of A list acts doing residencies. That took Gaga and her Enigma slayage to do that. Drake will be the first of many and it’s a good thing.

        JanStan no hunny try again.
Before Britney only older celebs had residencies in Vegas (Cher, Elton John, Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Celine Dion…)
Since Britney you had Jlo, Backstreet Boys, Gaga and if the rumors are hopefully True maybe even Beyoncé).

I am SO SICK & TIRED of our rinse & repeat generation! Britney starts the wave of young act residencies & now… EVERYONE ELSE has to secure one? it’s so incredibly annoying joe copy cat everyone is.

    I HATE IT!

is Beyonce the only one that can tour the world in stadiums? The reality is you can’t FAKE ticket sales like you can streams. Drake can’t fill those arenas. Damn. Another “icon” goes to Vegas

  5. I attend stadium January 14, 2019

Lmfao, it’s where mediocrity leads you to, all those streams and your headed to Vegas? He better join that racist heaux Britney, no wait Britney cancelled her while claiming her dad died or some s***. ☠️ Regardless if you ain’t got talent you ain’t selling stadiums like Beyoncé and Taylor Swift.

  6. Whoops ?????‍♀️ January 14, 2019

That’s because he can’t hang when it comes to touring. These mediocre pop stars can stream their way to number 1 and buy their own albums all day long; filling seats is the test of true artistry.

Britney didn´t start pshit. The trend of successul stars going to Vegas because they want to started with Celine Dion. The bigegst show tehre has ever been there, and while she was selling albums like hot cakes still.

BRITNEY STARTED THE WAVE OF YOUNG & STILL VIABLE ARTISTS taking residency in Vegas. Celine is NOT in the same lane as Drake, JLo, Gaga, Britney, etc. She does not count in THIS particular conversation. When people use Britney as a reference point, you sissies KNOW exactly what people mean.

      • JOHNVIDAL January 15, 2019

You are rretarded! Celine went to Vegas (because she wanted to, unlike Britney) in 2003 already. Many years ago. Around the same age Britney went to Vegas. So no, Britney didn´t started pshit. Celine was more viable at that time than any of those you mentioned. Celine had just had the second best selling album in the world in 2002. Learn and STFU!
